Omidyar Network recently funded the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University to examine slums in Bengaluru. The study found that these slum properties are a source of untapped wealth for residents because they don’t have a system for securing formal property rights.

As Roopa Kudva, Partner and Managing Director of Omidyar Network in India, said, “Property titling for slum dwellers has a clear link to overall economic development.”
