Beth Kanter serves as chief advocacy and strategic communications officer at Omidyar Network. In this role, Beth develops and drives the strategic direction for communications and policy efforts. As a member of the executive team, she helps set the longer term vision for the organization, as well as the roadmap to achieve its goals.
Prior to joining Omidyar Network, she worked at Spitfire Strategies, a public interest communication firm that works with nonprofits and foundations to craft and implement winning strategies. Beth served as Spitfire’s chief strategy officer, helping guide the firm’s direction, and managed accounts on a range of issues, including economic inequality, immigration, climate and the environment, reproductive justice, and technology. Earlier in her career, Beth was the senior vice president of external affairs at Planned Parenthood of Illinois and the first-ever political director at the Chicago Federation of Labor.
Beth graduated cum laude with a B.A. in political science and English from Duke University.
