As director of the Information Technology team, Allen oversees operational technology, including having oversight for technology infrastructure in all of Omidyar Network’s global locations. Drawing on more than 20 years of IT experience in the investment, payroll, and software industries, Allen provides vital support to help Omidyar Network increase operational efficiencies and ensure service availability.

Prior to joining Omidyar Network in 2008, Allen served as director of IT at Optimum Investment Advisors. In this role, he led the redesign of Optimum’s IT infrastructure in its Chicago and San Francisco locations, which included rebuilding the company’s security and messaging systems and automating site-to-site synchronization to guarantee disaster recovery and SEC compliance. Previously Allen was a technical services engineer at Paylocity and a quality assurance information systems manager at AvantGo Inc. He began his career at the investment firm of Graver Bokhof Goodwin and Sullivan. Allen graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a dual degree in information decision sciences and marketing.
