As a director on the intellectual capital team, Anamitra helps to define strategies, learning opportunities, research, and analysis that guide Omidyar Network's efforts and resources to maximize scale and social impact. His work focuses most closely on the firm’s Governance & Citizen Engagement and Financial Inclusion initiatives.
Prior to joining Omidyar Network, Anamitra was an associate partner at the Monitor Group (now Monitor Deloitte), where he co-founded the Monitor Inclusive Markets practice in 2007. He led consulting and research projects in financial inclusion and capability, low-income housing, agriculture and livelihoods, healthcare pricing and delivery, and impact investing in North America, South Asia, MENA and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Anamitra has authored a comprehensive review of global financial capability models (Bridging the Gap: The Business Case for Financial Capability), of the low-income housing and housing finance market in India (Building Houses, Financing Homes), and had his work featured in seminal reports and features on market-based solutions and impact investing.
Anamitra received two master’s degrees from the University of Oxford, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar, and is a graduate of Mount Allison University in Canada.
