David T. Hsu is a senior director at Omidyar Network. He oversees program strategy, grantmaking, and partnerships aimed at strengthening people’s power to shape the digital revolution for the greater good.

A cultural strategist and social scientist with 20 years of cross-sector experience, David currently works on weaving emerging voices, creative coalitions, and narratives to advance responsible governance of new technologies. He previously worked at the Hollywood-based impact consultancy Propper Daley, community organizing tech startup NationBuilder, University of Pennsylvania, and the tech section of the US Department of Justice Antitrust Division. A frequent speaker on what it takes to build belonging in our diverse democracy, he wrote “Untethered: A Primer on Social Isolation” and serves on the boards of Inclusive Action and CoGenerate.

David holds a Ph.D. in international political economy from Princeton University and B.A. from Duke University.
