In our digital future, we want to see broad networks working toward a shared vision for society’s relationship with technology. We also want to see shifts in popular narratives about technology, showcasing people’s agency and new stories built on hope, abundance, and security. And we want to see a more diverse and representative tech sector that embraces the cultures, norms, and practices that produce human-centered tech solutions and promote shared power, prosperity, and possibility for everyone.
Coalitions and Culture
We support diverse and inclusive coalitions that work across cultures and sectors, connected in their belief that our shared humanity should drive the digital revolution. We elevate diverse and emerging voices to help form a new collective conscience on technology issues, imagine alternative tech futures, and broaden who is viewed as a tech expert.
Families, people of faith, working Americans, veterans, artists, entrepreneurs, investors, and other stakeholders bring needed and nuanced perspectives on the wondrous things digital technology makes possible when guided well. And they caution against choices that would undermine our collective well-being.
We also support catalytic, people-centered civil society organizations to engage on AI, tech, and other emergent issues with confidence and credibility. Our partnership grows their in-house expertise and capacity to work in coalition with other tech advocates.
Media and Storytelling
We work with writers, photographers, directors, musicians, publishers, and other creatives to tell different stories about technology's influence on culture, policy, and business and to imagine different futures.
We support independent tech journalism through our Reporters in Residence program and media investments. We also support narrative change infrastructure building; collaborative storytelling platforms; cultural convenings; and television, film, and music projects.
