Ellen Jacobs

Ellen Jacobs serves as a principal at Omidyar Network. In this role, she leads work on tech governance and shapes policies and advocacy strategies on issues such as artificial intelligence, competition, and privacy.

Prior to joining Omidyar Network, Ellen served as Senior Adviser on AI Policy at Reset Tech, a non-profit focused on realigning digital media markets with democratic values. At the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, she established the organization’s U.S. digital policy team, built coalitions to advance transparency legislation, and advised Congressional staff, federal regulators, state lawmakers, and civil society partners on transparency, data access, AI, and safety.

She holds a M.A. in human rights and humanitarian policy from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia, and a B.A. in international studies from the University of Chicago.
