Pursuing the mission to bring together a global multistakeholder community to address the future of AI, Partnership on AI welcomes new Partners: Demos, Ingka Group | IKEA, Omidyar Network, and Online News Association.

As AI becomes more prevalent, affecting how everyday people live and work, it is essential that stakeholders from across sectors come together to explore how AI can contribute to a more equitable, just, and prosperous future. This conversation benefits from the inclusion of industries and companies adopting AI, think tanks helping policymakers govern AI, and philanthropic organizations funding solutions to ensure AI has a positive social impact.

“I’m very happy to welcome these new Partners based in Sweden, the UK, and North America,” said Rebecca Finlay, CEO, Partnership on AI. “Demos, IKEA, Omidyar and Online News Association each bring a valuable perspective to the urgent need to advance AI that benefits people, communities and the planet. Thank you for joining the PAI community.”

The new Partners will join the global network of more than 100 organizations that collaborate with PAI to identify AI’s most important challenges and opportunities and co-develop practical, effective guidance for responsible AI.

“We at Demos are proud to be joining the incredible network of organisations united in mission by the Partnership on AI,” said Elizabeth Seger, Director of Digital Policy, Demos. “At Demos we work to put people at the heart of policymaking to build a future in which technological progress strengthens democracy and aligns with the needs and values of citizens. We look forward to working with PAI in bringing together diverse communities of politicians, experts, and citizens to build a future for trustworthy AI – AI that is built with and for all people, not something done to them.”

“IKEA is excited to be part of this visionary partnership, as we believe AI has immense potential to enhance the everyday life of people whilst driving positive and lasting change for society and the environment,” said Francesco Marzoni, Global Chief Data & Analytics Officer, IKEA Retail (Ingka Group). “We are committed to ensuring that AI innovation is guided by ethical principles, allowing us to share our values widely—from our coworkers to homes and communities across the globe.”

“Omidyar Network is focused on democratizing access to AI, increasing accountability and competition, and delivering outcomes that prioritize shared power, prosperity, and possibilities,” said Wafa Ben-Hassine, Director at Omidyar Network. “We are thrilled to join the growing network of thoughtful experts at the Partnership on AI and working together to ensure that AI advances positive outcomes for people and society.”

“The Online News Association is equipping journalists and leaders with the training and tools needed in discerning the AI trends that are most relevant to newsrooms,” said LaSharah S. Bunting, CEO and Executive Director, Online News Association. “We’re focused on building fluency and driving adoption and experimentation that serves audiences’ information needs and contributes to business sustainability. We’re excited to add this perspective to the Partnership on AI. We look forward to collaborating with PAI’s diverse community and grounding conversations around opportunities, ethics and the human impact.”
