As an associate at Omidyar Network, Laura conducts research and analysis to inform the programmatic portfolio, and actively engages across the organization’s investment and stakeholder network.

Prior to Omidyar Network, Laura mapped peace-building initiatives within the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). She also set up a pilot communications strategy for the Consulate General of Mexico in New York as part of the Mexican government’s outreach efforts to indigenous communities living abroad. Most recently, she leveraged her policy background and tech experience conducting policy research for the tech unicorn ByteDance in addition to collaborating with several early-stage startups. Laura is keen to explore how technology impacts human life and intersects with larger social justice movements, governance, and development challenges

Laura holds an MScM in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University in Beijing where she was a Schwarzman Scholar alongside an MPP from the Oxford Blavatnik School of Government. She earned her BA in International Relations at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in Mexico City.
