Jerome Nicolai serves as programs associate at Omidyar Network, where he actively supports the organization’s for-profit initiatives in AI safety and contributes to shaping technology policy with a focus on AI.
Prior to joining the organization, Jerome was an associate at Techstars, a leading global pre-seed investor, where he supported early-stage startups and innovation ecosystems. Previously, he served as the digital economy attaché at the Embassy of France to the US, managing technology policy and contributing to the Embassy’s overall mission of fostering transatlantic partnerships. Earlier in his career, Jerome was cloud policy coordinator at Microsoft’s European Government Affairs team, where he helped the company navigate the complex EU regulatory environment for cloud computing and advocated for policy solutions. During his graduate studies, Jerome interned at the Court of Justice of the European Union, at the OECD, and at an international law firm.
Jerome holds a joint master’s degree in transatlantic affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium, obtained as a Fulbright scholar, and a master’s in economic law from the Sciences Po Law School in Paris.
