Lauren Alexander

Lauren Alexander serves as a Strategic Communications Advisor to the Executive Office at Omidyar Network. In this role, she provides strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the organization’s internal and external communications. Lauren oversees media relations and leads initiatives spanning digital communications, executive thought leadership, and internal engagement. She advises senior leadership on communications strategy, manages key vendor partnerships, and ensures cohesive, timely delivery of organizational messaging across teams and audiences.

Previously, Lauren supported Omidyar Network’s emerging AI portfolio and led strategic communications for the firm’s Responsible Technology work — shaping narrative strategy, convening cross-sector partners, and fostering collaboration among media, government, and research communities. She began her career in journalism at ABC News before holding communications roles at the NYCLU, ACLU of California, Lyft, and Twitter, where she led global initiatives on election integrity, product health, and digital accessibility.

Lauren holds a Master’s in Public Policy from University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University.
