Jeff Hom

Senior Vice President, Portfolio Operations

As senior vice president of portfolio operations, Jeff oversees the workflow and related systems through which Omidyar Network conducts its programmatic activities. He works closely with the programs team and different functions such as legal, finance, learning & impact, and strategic communications. Jeff is a member of the firm’s risk committee and a non-voting member of the investment committee, and was previously Omidyar Network’s general counsel.

Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Jeff spent six years as an associate at the law firm Morrison & Foerster LLP where he advised technology startups on venture capital financing, intellectual property licensing, and other corporate matters. On a pro bono basis, he provided legal support to small local businesses and nonprofits.

Jeff earned his law degree from Stanford Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University. He was also a Fulbright Scholar studying the handover of Hong Kong from the United Kingdom to China in 1997; he co-authored the article, “Human Rights in Hong Kong: The First Year in the Transition,” published by the American Bar Association.
