As principal of Exploration & Future Sensing, Eshanthi leads the firm’s work using foresight techniques and diverse networks to anticipate change, identify blindspots, and experiment in emergent areas of impact, to build a world that benefits and empowers us all.
Since joining Omidyar Network in 2015, Eshanthi founded the Exploration unit, explored a number of intriguing trends, and scoped and incubated experiments in mutual aid infrastructure, ambient technology, a diverse futurist network, digital identity, and tech worker activation. Eshanthi has also worked closely with Education and Property Rights portfolios.
Prior to Omidyar Network, Eshanthi worked on early social ventures in South Asia, including JITA with CARE Bangladesh and Danone, and a mobile health initiative with Ford Motor Company, Tamil Nadu Health Department, and IIT Madras. She also worked in management consulting at Boston Consulting Group, and in transactions advisory at Ernst & Young.
Eshanthi holds an MBA and MS in Sustainable Systems from the University of Michigan, and a BS in business and BA in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
