ePaństwo Foundation aims to increase transparency and accountability in Poland by giving citizens easy access to information that can help them track government and local authorities' activities, make informed decisions, and hold elected officials to account.
A leader in promoting greater openness in society, ePaństwo Foundation uses technology to make information about Poland’s political and legal systems readily available to the public. The organization aggregates data and develops easy-to-use tools that allow individuals and civil society groups to monitor the workings of Parliament and activities of elected representatives at the national and local levels.
Since its establishment in 2009, ePaństwo Foundation’s web portals and apps have become primary resources for those interested in transparency, including the online platform Sejmometr—the country’s main portal for publicizing legislative processes of the Polish government. With Omidyar Network’s support the organization will expand its technology offerings in order to provide citizens with a more robust set of tools that encourage transparency and accountability in government and among local authorities in Poland.
