Wendy is an analyst at Omidyar Network where she focuses on sourcing and evaluating for-profit and nonprofit investments for the firm’s Governance & Citizen Engagement initiative with a focus on Africa.
Prior to joining the firm, Wendy was a research analyst at the Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL), where she was responsible for a randomized control trial evaluating the use of signaling mechanisms to overcome barriers in the labor market for unemployed youth in urban South Africa. She previously worked with the Brenthurst Foundation, the Center for International Development at the Kennedy School of Government, and the Institut du Developpement Durable et des Relations Internationales (IDDRI). She has published research on urban growth in Sub-Saharan Africa and worked on projects evaluating the impact of mega-sporting events on developing economies, as well as mapping climate change policies in key developing nations. She is motivated by the goal of finding positive and measurable impact that remains faithful to local needs.
Wendy holds a Master in international development from Sciences Po in Paris and a B.A. in international affairs from the University of Georgia.
