As a senior manager on the intellectual capital team, Sonny advances Omidyar Network’s strategy, research, impact and learning agendas across regions and initiatives.
Prior to joining Omidyar Network in 2014, Sonny served as an investment manager at the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, where he developed strategy, built the investment pipeline, and originated and developed high impact opportunities to improve children’s welfare in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Sonny previously served as an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company, where he worked in both the financial institutions group and the social sector office. He began his career at Capital One, and has also worked with Innovations for Poverty Action and UnLtd.
Sonny received an MPA in international development from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he was a Reynolds Fellow in social entrepreneurship. He holds an MBA with distinction from the University of Oxford and a first class MA in natural sciences from the University of Cambridge.
