In her role as chief of staff, Elaine supports the partnership in managing and driving strategic projects for Omidyar Network. She was previously a principal on the investment management team, where she helped to evaluate new investment opportunities and managed the firm’s investment process.
Prior to joining Omidyar Network in early 2014, Elaine graduated from Wharton Business School, where she was co-president of the Wharton Social Venture Fund. In that capacity, Elaine led a team of 40 MBA students and was responsible for vetting social venture opportunities and coordinating investment processes for the fund. Before business school, she consulted for ImpactAssets on the IA50 and served as director of finance & administration for PlaNet Finance China, a non-profit working to support and promote the microfinance sector. Elaine started her career as an investment banking analyst at Greenhill & Co., a boutique investment bank in New York that specializes in mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings across all industries.
Elaine earned an MBA with honors from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and graduated magna cum laude from New York University, where she studied economics and psychology.
