Linden Lab provides a revolutionary form of shared experience through Second Life, a 3-D virtual world that is imagined, created, and owned by its participants (or “residents”).

In Second Life, residents create an online persona or “avatar”. Their avatar engages with others in Second Life’s vast digital world, which offers unprecedented opportunities for interaction, commerce, and an active role in creating the world environment.  For example, residents can use the platform to participate in town-hall meetings. They can also contribute to charities or buy, sell, and trade digital goods and services with other Second Life residents using real U.S. currency.

Since it launched in 2003, Second Life has seen a rapidly growing population of participants from around the globe connect to others with shared interests.
