Since 2002, the Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law (CDDRL) has collaborated with academics, policymakers, and practitioners around the world to advance collective knowledge about the connections between democracy, sustainable economic development, human rights, and the rule of law.

In addition to producing original research, CDDRL engages in training, teaching, and organizing intellectual and policy dialogues aimed at increasing public understanding of economic and political development. CDDRL researchers use this understanding to investigate the most promising avenues for institutional change and policy innovation. The Center trains global leaders and future generations of policymakers to advance new practices and reforms to address the most pressing issues of the twenty-first century.
