Artemisia is a nonprofit organization pioneer in spreading and fostering businesses with social impact in Brazil. Since its founding in 2004 by Potencia Ventures, the organization has inspired and strengthened social entrepreneurs, creating a new generation of Brazilian businesses that will break existing patterns and rebuild the true role of businesses in constructing a country with equal opportunity for all.

Artemisia believes businesses are the best strategy to address the social problems of millions – and even billions – of low-income people. The organization understands poverty as the lack of access to basic services and rights, so its goal is for all Brazilians to live with dignity and power of choice. Artemisia fights poverty and inequality by promoting scalable and innovative solutions that can address social challenges.

Artemisia is currently structured around two main pillars:  First, the Aceleradora, a five-month startup acceleration program for social impact businesses that are fully operational and whose products are already available in the market. Second, the Artemisia Lab, based on Artemisia's pre-acceleration methodology for businesses that are still in the early stages of development.

Artemisia has an office in São Paulo.
